Brand in Motion

Switch is a video game console developed by Nintendo Company in 2017. Its unique functions and features brought a storm to the console market. The Nintendo Switch contains both home console and handheld allowing users of all ages to play various types of games at home or on the go with either online or offline mode anywhere and anytime.

Inspirations

Objectives

Create a short but detailed animation for Nintendo Switch to investigate the brand with an additional perspective of motion.

Tone/Color Inspirations

Product research was the first major step in beginning this project. Nintendo Switch uses  blue and red as traditional colors but also branches out with different colors for other editions. I decided to use those colors as the theme color.

Motion Inspiration

One of the best experiences about Switch is its extrasensory perception. When players play it with the game console, users can feel it shaking along with the action. Additionally, the game, Count the Ball, inspired me because players use the game console to feel how many balls are inside the box by rotating it. I like the idea of balance and rotation and wanted to apply it to motion design.
